Emotion  and  affection

The word emotion comes from the Latin "ex-motum" > e-motiom > emotion.

That means "movement from something".

Emotion implies movement from a former situation, a development of the humour being,

it has a somatic component, you can feel something.

Affection also comes from the Latin, “ad factum” > affactum > affectum > affection.

That means "towards what has been done".

Affection among us means certain love and implies a movement of approach to other person.

Emotion actives something and affection goes towards it. Emotion hasn't got an object but the affection does have.

I feel emotion on my own but feel affection to someone/something else.

Basic emotions are two.

One related with the survival instinct that is unpleasant and takes away from the object.

And other one related to the conservation instinct that is pleasant and brings you closer to the object.

One is a schizoid because whether from the pleasant approaching emotion point of view, it never shows up or there is not such emotion or approach (affection)

We'll be stuck in solitude.

Or whether from the unpleasant emotion (anxiety in social relationship) of going away that leads equally to solitude.

Or lack of emotion or when it appears it's just the unpleasant emotion of growing apart.

In both cases there is no approach or affection.
